REBOOT CELLULAR FUNCTION AND INCREASE COLLAGEN PRODUCTION
Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), also known as medical skin needling
or micro-needling, is a minimally-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment
designed to improve the appearance of ageing, fine lines, wrinkles,
pigmentation, scarring, acne and provide a brighter, clearer and firmer complexion.
The treatment uses tiny needles or micro-needles on a
medical-grade roller or dermal needle pen that is moved over the skin to
create tiny, evenly spaced puncture wounds on the skin.
This process stimulates the body’s natural collagen production by generating a wound healing response. By causing trauma to the skin, you encourage the body
to produce new collagen and elastin, which helps it thicken and ‘plump up’.
This procedure can be performed on the face and body.
Micro Needling produces results through the stimulation of growth
factors and collagen, thereby promoting new skin cells to surface. As our
skin ages, our collagen production naturally slows down. Our skins ability
to function sufficiently is also further impaired by our diet, environment, illness and chemical exposure. New collagen and elastin formation in the
skin are documented as visually and measurably improved as much as one year post treatment.
Your therapist will perform a thorough consultation to ensure you are an
ideal candidate. There are no major contraindications for Collagen
Induction Therapy but as with all cosmetic treatments, the ideal client
should have realistic expectations, be in generally good health and
actively use the prescribed skincare to further enhance treatment.
The treatment is suitable for all skin types, unlike some laser or chemical
Micro-needling treatments result in:
Improvement in skin tone & texture
Glowing, revitalized skin
Reduced pore size
Improvement in acne scars and acne conditions
Reduction in fine lines & wrinkles
Reduction of hyperpigmentation, pigmentation and sun damage
Healing of hypertrophic scars
Regenerate the health of hair growth and thicken thinning hair.
Clients see results after the first treatment and it is most common to begin to see true changes or positive results as soon as 1-2 weeks after the first treatment with changes often noted within just a few days. The treatment provides substantial results when used in conjunction with Cosmecuetical skincare.
Following a thorough skin analysis and deep cleanse, a topical numbing anaesthetic is applied to minimise any discomfort. Your therapist will take this time to discuss your skin concerns, post treatment care and future treatments. Once the numbing agent has been removed and the skin hygienically prepared,
the therapist will apply serum and the micro needling device will be rolled over your skin to create evenly spaced puncture wounds. Skin is then cleaned and product applied to further induce collagen production and support the skins
*As micro needling is a skin penetration treatment all correct health and safety standards are carefully observed during your treatment to ensure No risk of infection.
Immediately after your treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin, similar to that of sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the areas treated. Redness and sensitivity reduces
within 1-3 days of treatment. Some patients may also experience peeling of the skin for 3-5 days after the treatment. Post treatment skincare is necessary to minimize these symptoms and to enhance results. The overall result will last longer when using an at home skin care regimen that includes daily Retinol use.
